To honor the history of Majin Planet not just to the fans who made this site what it is, the support but also to the people behind the pages who worked day in and day out to bring you the best content. To celebrate 10 years of Majin Planet I have put together the Majin Planet Archive site, which by it’s name means I’ll be putting up past content in the original form as it was met to be seen.
Like before I posted up the classic Splash Page Majin Planet has been known for so many years. Today I like to talk about Majin Planet Generations. As some of you might not know, Majin Planet Generations was a sub version of Majin Planet back in 2006, run by former webmaster Majin Trunks.
Majin Planet Generations was in every way what many fans wanted in terms of “the old” It was your classic run version of the site has it had been since 2001. In that there was a sort of “Brand” wars to see which site was the better, the current Majin Planet (as you see here) was called Majin Planet Productions. The idea was one was purely content with little media and the other purely media with little content.
By most accounts base on traffic numbers, and forum members Majin Planet Generations won the brand wars of 2006 even know, it fell shortly after the Fight Club ran. In that as it may, Majin Planet Productions and Majin Planet Generations became one forming the Majin Planet that we all know now.
So as I said to look back at the history, I have uploaded two versions of the site. Digging my CD drives I was able to find another full on version of Majin Planet Generations. As most of you know there was a version up which uses the classic Majin Planet (Vegito Music Video Heaven) banner. That version has been dub Majin Planet Generations – Dragonball Version. In the latter a older version with the layout design around Naruto which had the old content such as Dragonball and Naruto as the bases. That version as been dub Majin Planet Generations – Naruto Version.
You may at any time you wish check them out by going to the official Majin Planet Generations Archive site found here. This topic is open to discussion about Majin Planet Generations. I for one can not answer much about it other then tell you, base on a almost 3 to 1 figure (if I remember right) Majin Planet Generations out did Majin Planet Productions in the summer of 2006 (form later May to July).
I am sure Majin Trunks would be happy to answer questions about the site when and if he comes on the forums and sees the questions. By all means Majin Planet Generations was the end of an era, as the old ways in terms of design, coding and style died with that site and was taken over by the new more “web 2.0″ style that we share today. In many ways Majin Planet Generations was a mile stone in the history of Majin Planet and as such it should be honor as such.
We hope that you learn something form reading this little article of mine and for those of you who wonder, you know have a deeper look at what made this site so great and so special to many fans both old and new for so many years. Ten years ago today no one really thought a small little Dragonball Z Fan site called Majin Planet run by a guy named Majin Mebs would become so big and create such a legacy. Even long after the original founder has left out grace. My only hope that today we make history and build another ten years of Majin Planet Evilness.
If there is anything we should learn form all of this, is that Majin Planet is and will always be the best Dragonball Fan site ever created.
