Fight Club: FAQ

General Questions

Q: Why can't I use footage that has nudity and sex in it?

A: Because this is a family web site, we have visitors who are under the age of 17. Plus if people want to see hentai they'll search else where for it.

Q: Why is there a limit on the type of encode and file format now?

A: Simple, most people don't know the differences between video encodes and file formats. Most computers can play AVI and MPEG right out of the box. Most people have DivX install. Also I have to convert the final 8 videos to flash for streaming. Having it in avi DivX makes it easy for me to convert it. You can have as many file formats and encodes up for download, as long as one of them is that of the allowed formats. This could change in the future.

Q: How do I know my video made it into the final 8?

A: You wont find out until the day of the contest. Do not ask me if you made it.

Q: Why is there only one Fight Club a year now?

A: Because its lot of work and I'm not made of money.

Q: Why is voting done on the forums?

A: To prevent cheating. In the past with cookie base voting, people could vote 10+ times for a video making it very unfair. This is not a perfect system because you could sign up more then one account and get away with it, its rare but does happen. However its better then allowing free voting as it was in the past.

Q: My video is way better then then chosen 8. Why wasn't I picked?

A: Every editor thinking their video is the better one. I choose the best videos that I think are good and that will also make a great Fight Club. If you don't like it, then don't enter your video. In fact if you complain about it, you'll be banned form all future Fight Clubs.

Q: My Video lost, what the hell is up with that?

A: We have no control over who wins and who loses. The members of this web site vote; myself and everyone else has only one vote each per match. So don't take it personally. If you do and bitch about it, you will be banned form all future contests.
