Dragonballs

We all know how easy it becomes for Goku and the Z Soldiers to track down the Dragon Balls on Earth. In DragonBall Z Movie 13, they actually spend a leisurely afternoon gathering them. But, it wasn't always that easy to get all of them, something you're sure to have seen in Dragon Ball. From start to finish, the Dragon Ball quest took a couple of months for Bulma, and nine days alone with Goku's help. Along the way they tricked a shape-shifting pig, battled the deadly desert bandit, Yamcha and his side-kick Puar, overcame a mountain of flames, outwitted a magical rabbit, and destroyed the forces of the great Emperor Pilaf! Okay, so maybe it all sounds a bit strange, but that doesn't make it any less difficult. However this was only the first round of searching! As Dragon Ball continued, there were many much harder things to overcome, from evil androids to nasty green aliens...thus making' it incredibly hard for the gang to gather all seven of these magic balls...

Dragon Balls 101

Basically, in DragonBall and DragonBall Z, there are two different sets of Dragon Balls that the viewer is aware of. Kami, the good half of Piccolo, originally created the Earth's Dragon Balls. Kami chose the form of a Dragon, (good choice for Dragon Balls), to grant a wish to anyone lucky or skillful enough to gather all seven together at one time. The other set of Dragon Balls existed on Namek, and Guru created them. The Dragon Balls on Namek were the first set to exist. Guru created the dragon that granted the wishes, Porunga, after an image he saw in a dream. Porunga is five times the size of Earth's Eternal Dragon (Shenron), and is capable of some heavy duty wish granting. But we'll get to that later... The Ultimate Dark Star Dragon Balls were technically the second set of Dragon Balls created; they were created by Piccolo before he split into a good half and an evil half. Following traditional anime laws, something made by a full entity is far more powerful than something created by only half an entity. Their existence is only discovered in DragonBall GT. They are extremely powerful wish granters! Though their limits are never exactly tested, what they grant cannot be undone by other sets of Dragon Balls, and they carry a hefty evil side effect, (probably a result of the evil side of Piccolo). After a wish is granted, the Dragon Balls will scatter across the universe, and if they're not gathered within a year, the planet they last granted a wish on will explode! I'd call that an added incentive to get them back!

Types of Dragonball's

Threw out the Dragonball Trilogy there are three sets of Dragonball's used. The original Earth Dragonball's, the Dragonball's from the Planet Namek, and the old defective Black Star Dragonball's Here you will learn about them.

Namek Dragonballs

Namek Dragonball's
The Namek Dragonball's are the original set of Dragonball's and the most powerful of the different sets. They are about the size of a bowling ball as you can see in the picture to the left of Krillin holding one. These Dragonball's summon forth the great dragon, Porunga. You must say "Porunga come forth" in Namekian tongue in order to summon Porunga once you have collected all 7 of the dragonball's

Rules
The rules to the Namekian Dragonball's are simple.

  1. All wishes must be said to Porunga in the Namekian toung.
  2. Porunga can grant life to anyone as many times as he wants. With the original Namek balls he could only revive one person at a time but with the new Namek balls he can grant life to as many people as he wants.
  3. You get three wishes.
black star dragonballs

Black star Dragonball's
The Black star Dragonball's where the first Dragonball's to be on the Earth. Before Kami became guardian of the Earth he tried to make these Dragonball's, but since he had so much evil living inside of him he failed and created these. These Dragonball's are strange though, even once Kami is gone they still work, and after a wish is maid they scatter threw out the universe instead of the Earth and do not turn into stone.Once they leave the Earth though, the Earth will start to have problems and if they are not returned to the Earth within 1 year the Earth will explode.

Rules

  1. You only have one wish.
  2. If the Dragonball's are not returned to the Earth within a year after a wish is maid, the Earth will explode.
Earth Dragonballs

Earth Dragonball's
After the Earths guardian got the evil inside of him expelled from his body, he became Kami and he created a new set of Dragonball's These dragonball's were created the right way and the Dragon that comes from them is a traditional Japanese Dragon, the Eternal Dragon Shenron. Later on after Kami fused with Piccolo Dende became the new guardian of the Earth and used his powers to bring back Kami's Dragonball's and make them more powerful.

Rules

  1. You get only one wish, "two after Dende maid them more powerful."
  2. You can only bring the same person back from the dead one time.
  3. After you make the first wish, you can tell the Dragon your done for now and collect the Dragonball's again in half a month to make your other wish if you want to.
