Description: This video was originally intended as a follow up to my last video “can’t go back…”. I had recently gotten a copy of The End of Evangelion Renewal R2 DVD and I was looking for some song to edit it to. Underneath It All became my choice as soon as I started listening to some of the songs off of The Fragile. I wanted to edit something which I normally would not as well as use a NIN song that hadn’t been used before.

My intent for this video was to show Shinji’s descent into insanity, specifically the part that happened in EoE. I wanted to focus mainly on his character while using other characters (mainly Rei, Asuka and Misato) to show how they played a role in Shinji’s mental dilemmas.

When I edited it, I stayed away from any effects. I used only layers and my intention was to do as much layer timing as I could possibly do and still make have all of the action visible. The way that the song was made was in a fashion that lent itself to this editing style. This is something I usually do not do, which made this song even more enjoyable to edit and was something new I hadn’t used with EoE before.
