The History of XfireSystems: Generations 2 (2001 - 2003)

This articles outlines the history of XfireSystems.com and Majin Planet.com. In order to outline and make it easy for those wondering about our past it has been broken down into "Generations" The reason for this is because I feel that at points with in my webmaster career I was able to not only go beyond what I did before, but each one was its own and had its own story to tell. I hope this is helpful in understanding my way of doing things, the events that led us today and what the future may hold.

XfireSystems - Too Xtreme For you?

About the time of 2001, I had just about 15 web sites, most of them as listed here, most never where nothing worth even brining up. At this time I had a real issue with every week changing my site to best some other site. The problem was in my Art Class, I was the top student, I was on the football team, etc. In high school I was what you would call a ghost, that change my last year in high school. Before I knew it, everyone knew me and there where lots of rumors about me. For the most part I thought no one knew me, to why I just kept to myself and a few good friends. Well around this time I peak my web site. 20,000 visitors in one day, it lasted about 4 days, then it start to drop down past 10,000 mark and then around the end of the school year in June 2001, it drop to less then 200 visitors a day. After high school I had some odd jobs and did other stuff which met less time for the site and because of it it really drop out of the picture, finally in late 2001, I believe December, I close the site for good.

XfireCollector.com

Right around spring 2002, I wasn′t working so I had basically nothing to do in my free time. I was at a cross road, more or less I had no idea what the hell I wanted to do with my life. I miss a chance to go to school after high school (because I wanted to get right out there and work) but that turn out to be a nightmare. So I took some time to find out what the hell I wanted to do. So I thought that maybe I could make money off my web site, so I start looking into those "get rich on the net" programs, you name it I try it. When I try to open my site back up there was a problem with my domain name. For some reason I couldn′t get it as my host (who was the same host I was opening a new site with) wouldn′t transfer it. So I went with another site. At the time I was a big Magic The Gathering player as well as other TCG′s. So I open up a site about that, in terms it did well until my saving ran low so I had to get a job. Which I did, but it turn out to be a 40+ hour a week job and it wasn′t an easy job either. So I was tired lot and well after about 6 months that was about it for the site.

Xfire Entertainment

Problems at my job caused me to basically quit, so once again I had free time so I revamp the site. Again not to give great content to my visitors or anything just to get you to buy from me type of deal. After about 2-3 months of failure I once again got a job, this time however I had met someone online, a cool guy. He offer to run the site for me while I was off working. As you can say this was my first staff member as up to this point I had done everything 100% myself. Well lets just say after 3 months the site closed in late 2002. Reason was the guy turn it into a porn site. My host close it, so he moved it to one of those free porn host. I didn′t find out until about a week after it happen. I was pissed, for the most part I looked at my webmaster life as to be over.

Gundam Unlimited

Out of the fall of XfireSystems (as I like to call it) from in late 2001, this was one of the only sites to last into 2002, 2003. For the most part other then a new layout, the site lay dead. I did add some new information on G Gundam and on some of the older series but for the most part this was more of a ghost site then a real web site.

Dragonball Millennium

What a chance I had missed out on, from about 2002 was if anything the peak of the DBZ community. It was around this time that the 2nd Generations of sites became known and are still known very well with in the Anime Community. Some of those where DBZSC, Dranet, Majin Planet, Dragonball Unlimited, DBGT Network just to name a few. These sites are as well known to there era as to Planet Namek.com is known from the early 90s. My site could have been one of those greats, mostly because I had loads of free time on and off from 2001 to 2003. I was only looking to make money and while I did update the site and I did have the only (at the time) fully updated episode guide with full summaries (I also had GT episodes done). I had no link partners, no one knew about it deeper then my own network of online friends. I would however not let the site go to waste.
